Sledding Trip

We took a trip up the the mountains this weekend to enjoy a day of sledding. The weather was beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves. In between trips down on the sled, Jason and the kiddos made a pretty cool snow fort. After it was finished they used the fort as a shelter during their snowball fight. Faith and I opted out of the snowball fight but we did have fun watching them :o)

Uhh Ohh

Out of the mouth of my precious daughter came these words...

"Uhh ohh Mommy! (pause) My butt has a crack in it!"

I had to ask her to repeat herself just to make sure I heard her right. Sure enough, I did! After I finished laughing hysterically, I figured out that she meant her behind was showing out of her jeans.
I just love this little girl!!

Wednesday Afternoon

A couple of Wednesdays a month we are blessed with the presence of ... Daddy! These days usually consist of me taking care of appts. while Jason is able to watch the kids. Well, today our afternoon was spent at the river, enjoying the sunshine. It was originally planned for us to watch until Daddy caught a fish so that the kids could see it but, they were pretty bored after the first 15 minutes. So, we took a walk and found some fun. While we were gone, Jason caught a fish. Of course!! Well, I guess there's always next time :o)

Little girl and a Very big rock. I think we were scaring the fish away...oops! I'm thinking Jason was secretly glad we left the area.

Train on the slide...they came up with that one on their own

And finally, washing our hands off with that really cool pump :o)

Family Getaway

To start off spring break this year we decided to take a mini vacation with the kiddos. We spent our time in Estes Park and then in Denver. Estes was so beautiful! The kids liked swimming at the hotel pool and checking out all of the little shops. Jason was able to get out and do some fly fishing. In Denver we got to enjoy a dinner at Casa Bonita. The following day we had breakfast at Duffey's and then made a visit to the Butterfly Pavilion. Awesome weekend!

The Stanley Hotel. The location where the movie "The Shining" was filmed. Being the scary movie lover I am, I had to go see this hotel while we were in Estes. It was just as cool as I thought it would be!

Jason was able to get some fishing time in

Estes is full of tiny little shops. This one made homemade candy. We watched as the owner was rolling out some peanut brittle. Then the kiddos got to pick a sweet treat for themselves.

Touching the Star Fish at the Butterfly Pavilion

Yes, that is a tarantula. She had the biggest smile out of all the kids!! I still can't believe she wanted to hold "Rosie".

Monster Eye

Tylers class was given the task of baking and then decorating a cake. They could decorate it however they wanted. All of the kids in the class brought in their cakes and then the rest of the 5th grade voted and picked the best decorated cake. Tylers cake didn't win but, it sure was a cool cake!!
