Giving Thanks

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving , the kiddos and I sat down to talk about the things we are thankful for. Tyler and Nicholas decided they would like to make a list of these things. I helped them type out their lists.
The first page is their whole paper. Unfortunately you cannot read it since its so small. So, I enlarged the words and pasted them under each of their pages.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Ice Skating Party

Our cousin Hayley had a birthday party this weekend at the ice skating rink. We were so happy to get to celebrate her birthday with her! The kiddo's had never been ice skating before so it was really fun for them. Tyler and Nicholas pretty much took off with no problem at all. John and Faith were another story :o) Thankfully they had some little buckets they could cruise around with.

Happy Birthday Hayley!

Puzzle Pieces

Nicholas has been really impressing me these last few weeks! We always knew he was smart (even though he wouldn't show it at school), but I'm starting to realized just how smart this kid really is. He received this 48 piece puzzle from Great Grandma Proctor for his birthday in June. We've had it out a couple times with Dad but Nicholas decided to get it out and put it together all on his own. He did it!!! He loves horses so I'm sure that helped motivate him. Look at that smile on his face! He was such a proud little man.

I think this is a big puzzle for a 5 year old, right?!

Celebrating The Good Times

Through all that we had going on this past week, the one thing our whole family was looking forward to was celebrating my Dad's (Poppy's) birthday. We are all so blessed to have such a wonderful Dad/Grandpa to share our lives with. Since retiring in September, Poppy has been able to spend much more time with the kids. They go to McDonalds, watch movies at our house and hang out in the van while I run in for appointments. The kids made Poppy's birthday banner this year. Not because I'm a crafty mom, but because I couldn't find our "real" banner. I have to say that I will never buy another "real" banner again. Well, not until they have outgrown making them :o) They loved making that banner for their Poppy. So proud!!

Happy Birthday Dad. We love you!

Oh Happy Day!!!

Nearly three years ago when we moved away from Colorado Springs, we moved away from more than just our family and friends. We left all of the amenities we took for granted such as the shopping, restaurants and entertainment choices. Of course this isn't as important as family and friends but I'll tell ya, until you've lost it you just can't appreciate how much you enjoy it. In Missouri we would drive an hour and a half just to eat Chipotle!! Crazy huh?!?! Now I have to admit that I missed these things more than my better half. I was the one that was addicted to shopping and ate out with co-workers frequently. Moving away from these things taught me a lot. How to actually cook for instance! HaHa! It really was good for me. Well, today was a big day . The town that we live in just opened their first Chipotle! While driving one day I saw the sign for it. This was about two months ago. I have been counting down the days!!

My fellow Chipotle lovers wrapped around the entire restaurant and then spilled out into the parking lot. I also waited in this crazy line. It really only took about 30 minutes :o)

The giant beloved burrito....

I have the precious in my hands!!!!

Welcome to my hometown Chipotle

Boo!

This was the first Halloween that I can remember that the weather was beautiful. The costume that Faith was wearing would have normally been covered up with a coat but, not this year! The Grandparents came down to join in our festivities. They were a huge help and the kids loved having them here. As you can see our three little ones were all superhero's. I tried convincing Tyler to be one too but, he's so over that already. I do have to admit that he had a really cool costume though. Very creepy. Even Bailey joined in the festivities. She didn't wear her hat for very long but she was excited about everything that was going on.
