TREC Rodeo

This weekend Nicholas was able to participate in the TREC Rodeo. It is held at the State Fair events center which made it even more exciting for him. TREC is where Nicholas goes on a weekly basis to learn how to groom, ride and bond with his horse. His teachers have been just what he needs. No nonsense, yet very compassionate and super fun! It has been a really great experience for him and us as a family. At the rodeo he was able to show off his riding skills on his little miniature horse, Apache. So cute! He also was able to participate in the calf roping, bull riding (fake bull of course), and untying the string from a goats tail. We look forward to having him participate again next year.

Science Fair Winner

Tyler's school had all of the 4th and 5th graders participate in a science fair this year. This is about 140 kids. He did his project on the Effectiveness of Catnip. Seemed like a good and easy idea seeing as how we have a cat now. Plus, who wants to spend money on toys that the cat doesn't even care about? And so the project began. It was pretty easy for him and only took a weeks worth of testing. All of his work payed off. Tyler took third place out of all those kids! We were so impressed!! Who would have known? Anyway, here's Tyler with is ribbon and project. YEAH, Tyler!!

Happy Birthday Little Man

Our family celebrated Johns 4th birthday yesterday! We took the kids to a place where they have all the fun bounce houses and big blow up slides. It only took and hour and a half for them to completely wear themselves out. It was a big hit. Then we returned home for some cake and ice cream with my parents. His favorite gift was the shovel and bucket from his Poppy and Bammy. Now he can dig until his little heart is content. :0)

Jason braved the bounce house with all of them. Fun times!

John is so small he had a hard time squeezing through the obstacle course. But, he was smiling the whole time.

Yes, that IS a carrot cake. He picked it out...With a little encouragement from Dad. :0)

Happy Birthday John!

Last Sledding Trip of The Season

We took a little trip up to the mountains this weekend. The weather was absolutely wonderful so we thought what better time to go sledding. Since it was so warm the snow was pretty wet. Wet snow makes for good forts!! Jason and the kids made this really great snow fort that was at least 4 ft deep. The kids loved it! They (John & Faith) pretty much just wanted to sit in the fort eating the snow. Yummy! While they sat in their fort the rest of us were sledding. When we got back in the car I looked to see just how warm it was up there......70 degrees! Gotta love Colorado.

Perfect Ending

We had such a fun weekend. This evening we took the kids outside with bowls of ice cream to watch the sun go down. They were asking at the dinner table if they could watch the sun go down. How great is that? I love it! So, when I looked out the back door and saw them all sitting there I couldn't help but to want a picture to keep this memory forever.

Riding Like A Big Boy

Today was a big day for Nicholas. He learned how to ride his bike without training wheels!! It was a little tough in the beginning but by the end he was getting it. We are so proud!

Who knew fixing a bike tire could be so interesting?

He did it!!!
All done! He did go back and ride more later in the afternoon. He feels so big now :0)

Kite Flying

Today was a windy day (not a new thing where we live) and Jason wanted to take the kids new kites out. Tyler got this great kite for Easter from my parents and they were excited to try it out. It was fun. Super windy though!! I got the little ones Mickey Mouse kite up and Jason worked with Tyler and his dragon kite.
